The Alternative Press.com, an on line news source, posted an article by New Jersey parent advocate Alicia Grimaldi Brzycki, promoting school choice and citing ASAH’s funding study. She argues that costs could be cut and accountability improved if private special education schools assumed a larger role in New Jersey’s special education system.

What special education is in dire need of is reform, which must begin with school choice via special education vouchers. States to have already done so include Louisiana (2010), Oklahoma (2009), Georgia (2007), Utah (2005), Ohio (2003) and Florida (1999). There’s a national movement toward such reform, and New Jersey should be next.
