New Advocacy Videos Will Make it Easier for Parents to Navigate the System

ASAH is pleased to have launched this 8 part-series of short videos (most are 8-10 minutes each) designed to teach families how to advocate for their child. The series covers common advocacy problems families face, including eligibility for special education, transition, extended school year services, placement, LRE, the ‘stay put’ provision of IDEA and other areas of the law.

We are especially grateful to the partners at Hinkle, Fingles and Prior, a prominent disability law firm in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, for their partnership and participation in making the new video advocacy series a reality.

In addition to being available below on this page, the series is also available on our new Youtube Channel, SpecialEdAdvocacy.

The series includes videos on the following topics:

  • Eligibility for Special Education
  • Placement Determination
  • Myths Surrounding Placement in the Least Restrictive Environment
  • “Stay Put” Rules
  • Extended School Year
  • Transition Planning
  • Graduation Issues
  • Estate Planning
